Is there any type of grass that is bad for cats to eat?
I have been buying cat grass from the pet store and my cats love it. The eat at it a little and a time and don't throw it right up. I was wondering if I can buy some grass seed that may be cheaper and last longer than the pet store stuff?

- STICK WID THE PET STORE
- Most of the cat grasses are rye and sweet oats. They can be grown in about any seed pot, and the reason it is expensive from a pet store is that you are paying for convenience and having cheap seed packaged into small packets. You can easily get a pound of cat grass seeds for under $5, so check with seed stores or garden centers. Even Amazon carries cat grass seeds, although more expensive than from a seed store. Most pet stores carry a prepackaged item with the pot, soil and some seeds at a premium price.
- That should be okay if it is just plain grass. My cats roam outside and eat the grass all the time. They do throw up sometimes because the grass helps clean their digestive system but it isnt really unhealthy.
