In Long Island, NY when is the earliest I can plant Grass Seeds?

I need grass kind of fast for a party coming up soon, in my backyard. I was wondering, is it still too cold now, about 60degrees. How fast will it take to grow once planted? Thanks!!

1. Use sod.
2. Plant it now. Should see growth within a couple of weeks. Wont be carpet like though for a long time.
3. Now is fine, but you'll need to water frequently, and I wouldn't walk on it for awhile.
