The Grass Doctor

Should I Use Vigoro Or Scotts Fertilizer On My Yard?

I Recently had A Dog In My Backyard, The Dog Did Its Business Outside, Dug Holes, And Everything You Expect An outside Dog To Do...Well The Dog Has Sadly Passed Away And We Want To Get Our Beautiful Lawn Back. All We Have Is Soil. I Have Purchased One Bag Of Vigoro starter Fertilizer, And One Bag Of Scotts Starter Fertilizer. Both formula 20-27-5...which will do a better job In Getting Grass TO Start Growing?

  1. I think either/or would be fine, since the nutrient formula is the same You may want to also think about getting some grass seed laid down before-hand, especially for the really dogged-up areas. Good luck
  2. If you are seeding I would not use any fertilizer.Give the new lawn at least two months to establish roots before any fertilizing.
  3. I used Vigoro for the first time last year and I liked it. It seem to get the grass greener where Scotts got more weeds and crabgrass.
