Can anyone identify this landscape plant? ornamental type grass, spikey, yellow flowers, 6 petals,?

it has gorgeous yellow flowers that have just bloomed, 6 petals with a dark dot in the middle of everyother petal. It was already in our landscaping when we bought the house in south central Texas. thanks
