Would you recommend TruGreen lawn care services?

We have a lawn that has a lot of dead patches, and is very hard to keep seeded well due to where we live. Would you recommend TruGreen lawn care services?

1. NO,NO,NO,NO,NO, They are a rip off company. All they want is your money. They do a terrible job. I used them for weed and crabgrass control and after a couple of months here comes the crabgrass. I even called them about some weeds growing in a shrub area and they said we don't do that, just turf. Please don't waste your hard earned money on this RIPOFF company
2. Absolutely not! We had TrueGreen for over a year. They sprayed and sprayed, and the grass kept receding. Turns out we had too much shade for a lush, green lawn. But TrueGreen was perfectly happy to cash our checks. When we canceled the service, we were hassled: calls every few days, asking us why we canceled. They refused to take no for an answer. As for the lawn, I've had as much--maybe even more--success spreading a granular feed and hitting it with a water-soluble fertilizer every 6-8 weeks. It's cheaper, and every bit as good as the TrueGreen "don't you dare try to cancel on us" nazis.
