  1. Couple of variables: size of lawn Lenght of grass Is it once off or on a on going basis Does the grass need to be taken away For a lawn: You can pay anything between €35 per hour and €70 depending on contractor or the local guy earning a few pounds. That is not including taking the grass away
  2. there are plenty of people who will do this for rminimum wage. 2 hours work tops for that area - £15-20 get someone local to do it, NOT A LANDSCAPE FIRM contact neighbours and offer £15 for it to be cut every 2 weeks
  3. I usually bill hedges on the amount time per hour to do work + disposal expenses. If you dispose of clipped branches yourself, you will be able to save money. My rate for 'simple' hedges is around $30/hr (in half hour increments min. chg $30). Hedges requiring ladder and/or attachments (i.e.pole arm) $40/hr. Your lawn cut be cut cheaply, I would charge a minimum of $25(includes trimming and power sweeping sidewalks & driveway). I use a mulching blade, so if you cut regularly, there will be no need for clipping removal. These are rates for an experienced, licensed and insured business. You would be able to find lower rates, but you would be may sacrifice cut quality, tools may not be in good maintenance, etc. Since you have your house on the market, you'll want to consider hiring a insured business to do work. That way, if something is damaged or someone is hurt you will have some legal recourse. You will also be able to put on your listing "lawn/yard is professionally maintained", a strong selling point with a potential buyer. I have heard many stories of people who hire cheap labor only to have their have their plants destroyed, grass scalped, piles of clippings left on lawn (this kills grass), A/C wires cut, sprinklers damaged, etc. A reputable landscape company can be trusted to do a good job, which you probably won't get with a neighbor or in- experienced hire.
  4. your best bet is to get quotes from the professionals then advertise the job in your local paper quoting a lower rate for the job.
  5. £15 tops £20 if they cut the edges also and must remove clippings
  6. I do a few properties of that size and the cost can vary between £60 to £90 a month, but I tend to offer a once every two weeks service. Can vary quite a bit though depending on growth rates in that area. Some lawns are faster growing than others depending on how they've been treated. A good way to go about it is to find a gardener who can offer you a good hourly rate and then after a few sessions you can try and fix the cost with them so you both know where your up to.
