- Hey man, I'm 16 too and luv yard work. I'm mowing now for side jobs like you said ( neighbors yards ) for a real business, I'm not sure if it's by state but I think you can start at 16 or 18 for commercial. If you have a drivers license, trailer, truck and all or whatever you're doing. But you just need the equipment and something to haul it with. I don't think you need a license or anything, also the advertising and stuff if you want to get your business going. And this time of the year sucks! for mowing and stuff, but you can put landscaping on your ads too, like planting flowers/plants or putting brick or cement down. But gotta know what you're doing if you want a good reputation and money and people will call you back if they like your attitude and be respectful and do a good job. GL to ya man
- i think for youto get a city or county permit or occupation lic,s, you will have to be old enough to get all your insurance and working permits, what ever the state law that lets you get these, thats the age you can start your own company, plus have to file a working papers with the irs and worksman comp not easey to start out, you have e to fight city or county gov..
