The Grass Doctor

Why doesn't Schwartenegger send all illegals packing and make the farm jobs available for US citizens only?

I'm sick of them and Bush saying these are jobs Americans won't do. Who cut the lawns and worked for the counties before the Mexicans? We did. Americans.

  1. He don't have that power. Too many democrats in that state.
  2. For once you and I agree on something. Maybe there is hope for the future...
  3. I agree 100%!
  4. I recall that we did kick Gray Davis out...so what are we waiting for??? kick schwartenegger back to Mexico and that mayor of his villa something
  5. Some of them are jobs Americans won't do. I worked in a meat-packing plant. We hired a few local guys to work there. Only one of them lasted longer than two weeks. The other two quit because it was "nasty" "too cold" etc.. even though they got paid OVER $11/hr and we were working enough to get plenty of overtime. Hired a few mexicans (all with papers, mind you) - they work their BUTTS off. Same with horse barns. The girls that originally thought it would be so cool to work around horses (and by girls I mean college students, pre-Vet) got tired of scooping poop and 6 am work days. Got a mexican. He works. Golf course that my fiance works out, same story. Hired a friends brother who was out of work. Boss said he would give him as many hours as he wanted to work as long as he did the job. The guy started coming in for an hour and a half - which was not doing the job. But the mexicans did.
  6. Well, people should stop hiring them and hire Americans instead. I doubt that the people who could take those jobs either would work for just a few dollars an hour, or are able to get to those jobs. What ever happened to going after the employers?
  7. If he has any brains he will. The reason this state's so f'd up economically is directly related to their presence here and them siphoning our funds.
  8. I am wondering why Schwartzeneggar and Shriver don't just pack them selves up. They are the ones afraid of real work- not us!
  9. Boo nailed it, there are too many Democrats to let him. I can't agree more, and feel that it should be linked to unemployment. If someone is out of work capable of physical labor, and has been collecting unemployment for longer than 3/6 months, send them to the field (or any other job that "Americans won't do" - tell them if they don't do this work, they are no longer eligible for an Unemployment check.
  10. As to your headline question, the answer is actually very simple. The United States Constitution grants authority to regulate immigration to the legislative branch only. The legislative branch in turn has the executive branch carry out enforcement. In other words, because the Constitution specifically gives immigration enforcement to the federal government, states may not enforce immigration law. There are limited circumstances in which state and local government may assist the federal government with immigration enforcement, however ultimate control belongs to the federal government. The primary federal agency responsible for federal enforcement is the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE.
  11. I feel your pain, the job I worked at fired all the Mexicans becasue they ware too lazy and stole form the shop. Then we hired American, the quality of work went up and they do a better job, work harder and way better work ethics than any Mexican could ever dream of. Americans cost a little more to hire, but are more productive so it's better in the long run. The Mexicna just complained all day long and when they did a crap job, they said they didn't understand and used that as an excuse. I can repeat the sam story with many shops, construction sites and stores around my area, The Mexicans just don't give a damn, it's sad. Way to lazy for me. I guess they would just rather lay around collecting welfare and making babies.
  12. I'm just guessing but do you think that La Raza helped him get into office??
  13. Why doesn't our WHOLE government do something about this. Its a problem all over America. And I cut my own yard.
  14. Star for you.... But we need that kind of thinking across America... California can lead the way though....
  15. His wife is a Kennedy> That might give you and idea> The terminator is a girlie guy around her>The liberals want all the illegals possible so they can get there illegal votes>Them have complete control over them>In turn will give them more power to push threw all the pork they want> Not good for the USA citizens> But they voted them in so hope they like what they asked for>
  16. Are you aware that Californians are leaving the state because of the illegals Schwarzenegger, and others love so much in their state?
  17. yes Americans used to do these jobs but rarely adults as these are jobs that do not pay well. if you want to make about $250 a week working 10 hours a day in the blistering sun with few breaks go ahead. but i am telling you there just aren't that many Americans that want to work that hard or are any good at it. When i worked for a horse barn we alwys had a hard time finding Americans who wanted to work on a hay crew for 2 weeks. the teenagers got lazier and lazier over the years and fewer and fewer would even apply for the job and the last year I worked there we had two young me leave on the second day because they were too out of shape. I do farm work for a living and I can tell the hours are long and the pay is lousy. I do it because I own my own farm and like being my own boss. I don't think I would as an adult choose to do farm work as there are too many other jobs that are physically easier and pay far better. So our choice is to use immigrant labor that will work for less or pay more than triple for produce and other foods because Americans would demand $15 an hour
