How often should I add liquid fertilizer?
It doesn't say on the bottle. I have "Iron Enriched Plant Gro" For the instructions it says "5 ml (approx. 1 capful) per 10 U.S. gal (37.8 L) provides the ideal amount (0.3 mg/L) of iron." I did that on Friday which was the day I bought the fertilizer and plants. I have 2 java ferns and 1 hornwort in a 10 gallon tank. I don't have any fish in there yet though so I got the fertilizer to keep them alive until I did get fish.

- which aquarium plant are you growing? Java fern doesn't need that much fuss I still have my fertilizer from a long time ago.
- Really, you probably don't need fertilizer for those plants unless you've got some insane lighting causing them to grow ridiculously fast. Most fertilizer dosages are based on weekly water changes. You put a bunch of nutrients into the system, the plants use as much as they can, and at the end of the week, you remove as much of the extra stuff as possible with a water change so you can start all over. You might try starting with a half dose of fertilizer, as I'm guessing your lights aren't incredible (or you'd probably have more "difficult" plants).
- I know that it says that it is harmless to fish but it still isent good for them and your plants dont need it. I sell plants for both fress and slat watter and I dont use fertalizer and there is no fish in the tank. your plants should be fine
- I'd not do it more often than you change the water, and don't add more than what is indicated for the amount of water you are replacing.
