The Grass Doctor

What legal recourse do I have?

Today a local lawn care company stopped by and started fertilizing my lawn. The problem is, we don't have a contract with them to do so. We also have a small child who likes to play in the grass and a dog who uses the lawn for his business. We try to keep our lawn care as organic as possible, so this really flies in the face of what we're doing. What can we do?

  1. Stop them before they start and tell them what you just told us and refuse any bill they try to give you . If they start and finish before you know it , you might contact the company and tell them you are not with them and that if anything happens to any of your children or pets because of what they did , you are going to sue and win . If they offer to put some kind of neutralizer on it you must do as you choose to do . They were in the wrong .
  2. that happend to me when i was not home tell them fix it your way you can sue
  3. You have no legal recourse unless you can prove actual damages. For example if you child got sick from the chemicals, then the actual damages would be your medical bills. Just do not pay any bill they send and report them to the BBB. If your local paper has a Vox then call it in to them and state the name of the company. No one likes bad press.
