What age do most kids start mowing lawns?

My kid wants to start mowing lawns and I'd like to know what age most people start!!!

1. i started at 5 with a push mower not the electronic ones or the gas ones
2. I started mowing my parent's lawn (3/4 of an acre) when I was 9. I think it's a great experience and kids get to care more for the land and earth.

4. In some states the legal age to work with a work permit is 14 and i think at that age they will be responsible enough to mow the lawn and not injure themselves in the process.
5. I started at 11 or 12, and my kids all started around the same age. Pretty much whenever they are strong enough to push the mower, they get to mow in my family.
6. I started when I was 5 but that was mowing our lawn (which was a bit less than an acre). Started mowing lawns for money at 14.
7. how old you let them mow at HOME is one thing... off at someone else's house is a whole'nother deal..... can they be trusted to follow the rules of using gas, oil, starting, mowing, trimming and not running over plants?... picking up the yard before mowing?.... not doing two things at once, like gabbing on the phone, etc?.... then, too.... most homeowners who don't know the kid, think about their home insurance and what happens if there's an accident..... and wouldn't hire a kid that was too young.... personally, I wouldn't hire one that couldn't drive..... and mine wouldn't go out to mow someone's yard that wasn't in the neighborhood until they could, either....
