How competitive is tall wheat-type grass w/other things you're growing in garden?
I've pulled out the grasses (yet i'm sure the dirt is still full of roots and seeds) and I've planted fruits/vegs. How thorough do i needs to be?

- I've gone through the same process you are going through now. The early spring of the first year, I pulled out all the grass and planted my vegetables.. Things looked good in April, May and early June. By mid-June, the grass started to come back and quickly outgrew my other plants. The second year, I put landscape fabric in some parts of the garden and layered newspapers covered with cut grass in other parts. I cut slits in both for my garden plants. Both worked very well for preventing the grass from growing back. I've read that it is necessary to do this for 3-5 years to prevent the grass from coming back. So far, so good.
