What is the Best Home remedy for Palm Tree fertilizer?

I just got some Palms installed and the Fronds are turning brown. I thought this might be because of a change in weather and me using a rotating sprinkler. it's been getting cold at night so I figured the water was not drying and was frying the Fronds in the morning. Doesn't seem to be helping the brown on the Fronds now that I'm only water the bottom. Can anyone give me a remedy to have lush green palms. Maybe something I can find in my cabinet because Unfortunately I just lost my job. So I might as well work on my house in the meantime! Also any ideas on how to keep them hydrated without jacking up my water bill? Sounds like a silly question but there has to be some way of doing this!

  1. If the trees were just installed, they need to be watered thoroughly. Figure enough water to fill the hole they were planted in about once a week for a month or so. Watering with a rotary sprinkler won't do it. You need to put a hose at the base of the tree and let water soak in slowly. Some die-back of the older fronds is to be expected when palms are transplanted, but the tree should recover in a few months.
