  1. Flyers, websites, newspaper advertisements, etc. can all boost your business. In the winter, you could offer to shovel and salt drives and walkways. Good luck!
  2. I'm not being mean when I say that you should go back to school and take English courses to teach you spelling and grammar. The way you present yourself in business is very important and when your fliers are spelled incorrectly it makes for a very bad first impression. Also, you're going to have to make bids on jobs and that will require you to write a proposal which must be correctly done. Then, you'll need to take some business classes. They will teach you how to set up your business and how to run it successfully. You have the equipment you need for the job now you need the smarts. I wish you the very best in starting your business.
  3. Sage is right, also, you know apprenticeships used to be for 7 years, this was so that you learnt your trade, then gained some experience, some money behind you and a head for business instead of pipedreams, at your age, level of education and experience you would'nt last a year. Sorry but that is the truth of the matter.
  4. I agree with Sage, as well. " The way you present yourself in business is very important and when your fliers are spelled incorrectly it makes for a very bad first impression. Also, you're going to have to make bids on jobs and that will require you to write a proposal which must be correctly done" There is too much competition out there. Plus with people not being able to trust people these days, you have to really make a good first impression. I want to add to Sage's advice: 1) You will need a Tax ID # (you can obtain that from one of the offices in the local courthouse) 2) Pay your taxes quarterly so they do not kill you in the end! 3) Do your BEST and always be polite, going that extra mile for your customers. (They will remember it & appreciate it. Word of mouth is the best advertisement out there!)
