Using a broadcast spreader when it's windy?

I want to do a weed-and-feed on our lawn tonight, because it's supposed to rain tomorrow and I won't have to water it in, but it's really windy, and I'm afraid it will blow the fertilizer/weed killer all over. My husband says the spreader is so low to the ground that it won't make a difference. It's almost dark out, so I don't think I'll get to it anyway, but can anyone tell me if it's okay to fertilize when it's windy?

  1. As long as the material you're spreading isn't TOO "fine" putting it on your Lawn shouldn't be a Problem. MAYBE, the rain'll hold off until Tomorrow PM & you can get the job done EARLY in the AM -when it's usually less windy... There's always Hope! :)
