What's the best type of grass seed for a lawn across the street from the beach?
I live in Ormond Beach, Florida,. My lawn is sandy with alot of sandspurs, but i do have a sprinkler system. Looking for something nice but not too expensive

- why not grow to the environment - make your yard beachy - sea oaks...with occasional citrus trees or some prickly pear or both...that way you have a lawn that is already growing on the beach and you cut down on maintenance and you look like an artist with your millionaire lawnscape
- how about crab grass. it really spreads nice After it gets established
- Centipede grass seed is the best you can get. There are many of course but if you don't know what to go with go with Centipede.
- If you just want grass, common bermudagrass seed is your best bet and the cheapest solution by far. It will grow and survive the salt levels fairly well. If you want a nice turf lawn, the most salt tolerant grass is seashore paspalum. I've got it planted on my golf course in Cancun on the beach, and it is great. Only problem is you can't buy seed, it has to be plugged or sodded and is going to be substantially more expensive than bermudagrass seed, but worth it in my opinion.
