How can my grass grow faster?

My dad made a nativity scene made out of mud its pretty big and every year he puts grass seeds on it. the problem is that this year he started a bit late and the grass may not grow in time for dec 24th. 1. try winter rye grass seed. it sprouts fast
2. is it on something that he can move? Can he place it on a heating pad? Light will help once it germinates, but to germinate, warmth will help. Can you post a photo when it is up, or of last year's? I would love to see it.
