- Might be a bit late now , Best was 6 to 8 weelks ago , need a bit of warmth for seed to germinate. best left till next March/ April now Basic needs are warmth and moisture
- I would say the same as the NE US. I usually pant in sep/oct. Clear the ground of all rocks and sand, nice new topsoil usually does the trick. Just sprinkle the seed down (or use a spreader) and water it in. Most bags of seed will have specific watering instructions based on the type of seed you purchase.
- You can punch holes in the grnd with an aerator for thickening established lawan. To start from scratch - til and rake smoth , til and rake smooth. Soil temps are the key. Don't know what your is in the UK but around 60 degrees or more. Fescue should be done in the fall with warm soil temps and cool nights. Roots will have a chance to fully develop before next years summer heat. I doubt you could do summer season grasses such as bermuda but those types are done in the late spring as they also need the warm soil temps and then being a summer turf, like the heat.
- in the UK best April or Sepember
