What are good fertilizers for my cactus plant? Are there gd liquid fertilizers around and where can I get em?

If anybody knows how to concoct your own liquid fertilizer, please do share the secret.

2. i've had a little pot of cactus and succulent fertilizer crystals from a garden centre which has lasted me for several years now - it's very economical, you just dilute a tiny spoonful in a pint of water. It's a good idea to get the right stuff and not rely on what's 'on tap' as somebody has recommended, as cactus and succulents have particular needs for a balanced fertiliser and this doesn't mean a lot of nitrogen. Didn't cost much, not worth trying to make your own if you've only got a few cacti and want to get it right for them.
3. None I know of. Never heard of fertilizing a catus plant. Best thing for your cactus is "leave the water alone". A small catus, say in a 4 inch pot, would take about a tsp. of water a month. You can tell when you are over watering because the cactus will grow narrower instead of keeping its uniform shape. Also, watch out for "meeley bugs". Not sure I spelled that right but it sounds like it is spelled that way. These bugs look almost like an egg has been laid on your cactus but it is actually a bug. They move very slow so hard to realize they are bugs. The suck the "juice" out of your cactus and destroy them. Most of the time you only encounter these bugs if you bring home a new cactus from a store who had them and all it takes is one and you are in trouble. My mom used to dip a new cactus..sounds awful.. in dishsoap water and then rinse, roots and all, when shed get a new one , to prevent the outbreak of these bugs. 5. Most larger garden stores have cactus fertilizer in their houseplant care section. A container that will last most people a life time costs about $5 in our area.
