Starting small business mowing lawns?
My friend and I want to start a mini business of law mowing. We will split all costs and profit in half. I live in florida in St. Pete which is a pretty urban place. Can you help us by telling us how to start this? Should we make business cards? How should we come up to people to ask if they want their lawn mowed? Thanks a lot!

- It would be better to place ads/ put out flyers and get them to call you. You may want to run some extra specials at first and then try to gain more business in the same neighborhoods.
- Print fliers and distribute it via mailboxes (just keep them outside, as putting them inside is illegal) in your neighborhood. Make sure to include your phone numbers and emails. Advertise in Craigs List. It's free. If you can, create a website./
- Print business cards or flyers on your pc and put them in peoples mailboxes. Make sure you have voicemail to take the messages and call back promptly.
- i was the nations' youngest lawn contractor in 1958. what to do; determine, first, your net profit needs--for each of you. to many people they work on "i net what happens." that is wrong. YOU must sell your services so that you build on the net and add your costs. That way, you know you will always have $ take home dollars for every lawn you do-hour you spend. so, study simple math and determine your selling price of each lawn'; based on time. Then, just visit homes --26 homes a day for each of you and have a mini written contract available if you get a yes. and specify when you get paid, normally at the end of the law cut; not at the end of the mo or SOMETIME later.
- flyers in a mail box, create a niche for yourselves by being environmentally friendly, cut grass with a push mower, kill weeds with boiling water. Be the green cutters.
