How do I recover a poinsetta that has gotten too much fertilizer?

When my indoor potted poinsetta got droopy recently, I realized I'd been giving it too much fertilizer...once a week rather than once a month. What can I do to reverse the effects? I'm not a pro, just a tinkerer of potted plants. I have it in the sink and I letting fresh water drain through the potting soil to clean it out. I don't know if this will work. Any suggestions?

  1. Take your plant and clean as much of the soil as you can from the feeding root's. Then put it in another pot with fresh soil. (When the leaves start to point down. They are ready for some mild water. (Not warm water) (I prefer tepid water.) Bob.
