  1. I do take care of my lawn and use Vigro (sp?) at Home Depot. Fertilizer, weed and feed, lime, and reseed every other year. I found it works just as good as Scott's. :-)
  2. Lawn fertiliser is the stuff to make lawns lush and green. They contain a high proportion of nitrogen which promotes leaf growth in all plants. Liquid mix is safest in dry weather as granules tend to burn the grass unless it rains or is watered in. Also Lawn Sand is used to control moss in lawns. It is sharp, washed sand mixed with ferrous sulphate. Kills moss and some weeds, but not grass. The sand part helps drainage, as moss likes damp to thrive.
  3. I depend on the rain, sunshine and a rear engine Snapper riding mower. For the moles, I feed them a little x-lax now and then. Works fine for my 2 and 1/2 archers. For my fruit trees, I paint them with lye soap water. I use mothballs around the base to ward off bore worms I spray with malathion when it is needed, always in the late afternoon.
  4. Regular core aeration, fertilizer, and water does the trick for me. Using a winterizer (fertilizer for winter montsh) is also a product that promotes healthy growth and has proven helpful. Some of the articles on AllAboutLawns.com may help. Good luck!
  5. I take very good care of my lawn and work very hard to keep it up. I use Scott's products for my fertilizer and weed control. I treat the lawn 4 times a year. I truely believe that this promotes good growth through the season and keeps weeds and dieases to minimum. I use a product called Seven to help control bugs and spiders. I originally started using this because I have a dog that I treat for fleas and ticks. It was suggested by the vet to treat the lawn with a flea and tick preventative. When I started using it for that I noticed that we had no spiders or grubs around. The products I use play a part in helping me maintain the lawn and keeping it healthy but I also put a lot of hard work and effort into keeping it up, which is something I really enjoy doing.
  6. Irondale as in New Brighton? Haha, just curious... xD Sorry... I don't really have an answer. xD
