The Grass Doctor

How do you apply fertilizers on buffalo grass?

Which type is best? I used urea and just threw some around, trying to spread them evenly. But the grass seemed like it burned.

  1. The grass burned because you put TOO MUCH fertilizer down. A general rule for me is, "A fist-full of fertizer to about 4 square yards",
  2. YOU CAN GO TO BUNNINGS AND PURCHASE A FERTILIZER SPREADER, HAND HELD OR ONE WITH WHEELS ON IT THAT YOU CAN PUSH, I USE NPK BLUE FERTILIZER AND BAILEYS FERTILIZER WHICH IS EXPENSIVE BUT TOP STUFF,ALSO WATER YOUR GARDEN AFTER YOU FERTILIZE AND THIS WILL HELP IN STOPPING FERTILIZER BURNING GRASS LEAVES. ALSO YOU NEED TO AIRRATE YOUR BUFFALO ONCE A YEAR Before summer, buffalo needs plenty of water in summer as it germinates in febuary. GOOD LUCK,
