How can I estimate the population of grass plants using the quadrat method?

I have to estimate the population of grass plants in the shape of triangle... Can you tell me 1) the formula of the (POPULATION) of grass plants using the quadrat method and 2) how to measure the grass plants in the shape of triangle not square.
