I have just got rid of a flower bed in which there was a big bush & have levelled it off & planted grass seeds?
Thing is I have loads of weeds coming up with the grass - How can I get rid of these without hurting my new grass ?

- If the grass is really new, I would try to pull the weeds out, or dig them out if they are too tough to pull out. If the grass is mature enough you might try a good weed killer. use one that only kills weeds and not the grass.
- Difficult, it would have been best to have waited for the weeds to germinate before seeding the soil. But never mind it does not matter too much. Don't try and do anything about the weeds now, providing they are not giant triffids just leave them until the spring then treat the area with a good quality weed and feed. If there are any weeds trying to grow to the size of the Empire State Building, or totally smothering an area, then use wooden boards to walk on to reach them and pull them out. The boards will spread your weight across the soil and help avoid compacting it.
- Pull a few of the weeds & take them to a garden center or landscape supply, ask them the best way to get rid of the weeds. You can use a regular weed & feed if the grass has grown enough to need cut at least 4 times.
