  1. Basically you would cahrge by the hour. If you are a landscape contractor, you pay for workers comp, liability insurance, etc. You also own quality equipment which can mow large turf areas. Basically, you put a price on the job depending on how long it takes someone to complete the task. How much fuel is used? How much is the equipment worth (if rented)? All of these can be factored to come up with a price/acre (which is really based on time and profit margin). In otherwords, an employer will have one of his employees perform the job, he will add the employees hourly wage, mabye an hourly wage for the equipment & gas, etc. Figure in a bit of profit (for the boss) and submit a bid.
  2. It depends if it's 10 acres of big pieces of turf or small lots like condo's or something. You bid should be based on the time it will take you to do the job, times the hourly wage you will need to make a decent profit. Around here its 30-40 an hour. Per mowing means" each mowing." ($40.00 per mowing)
