How can I grow grass in yard with animals?

We have a pretty good size backyard and two dogs. We are thinking of tilling the yard and redoing the grass. What kinds of grass are recommended? We have mostly sun area, but some shade. Also, they run the fence line so I am possibly looking for grass that can stand up to high traffic, etc. Anyone have suggestions on this? I live in WV in western part so mild climate.

1. It is next to impossible to have a pretty lawn with two outdoor dogs. About the only way to do it is to set aside an area for a dog-run. You can fence this area in for the dogs only. As for grass, it is best to plant what you see in other yards in your neighbourhood. OR go to your local nursery and talk with a clerk as to what to plant and the best way to do it in your area.
