Is it better for cats to chew on an entire cat grass or to serve them in tiny pieces?
Hi! I have bought a box of cat grass seeds and grown some grass sucessfully for my 2 kittens of 5 and 7-month old. When I gave the kittens the grass to chew on, one seems interested and the other ran away(!). And, the one which is interested took a loooong time to finish chewing one, if sucessful. I tried cutting the grass into tiny pieces and sprinkle them on top of their dry food. I know the kittens ate the grass as the grass are gone together with the food. But is chewing on the grass better then eating them directly in tiny pieces? Any advise? Thanks!

- I would advise letting them decide how much they want to chew. You could put the pot down on the floor where they can get to it and have as much or as little as they like when they like.
- it is probably best for them to chew it themselves. Some cats like it and others don't. You could also try growing cat nip.
- I just put the box of grass on the floor and let my cat do with it what he pleases. He usually pulls out a couple of pieces, eats them and goes on about his way. Sometimes when he gets excited he will attack the box and bat it around for awhile.
- You don't need to cut it for them. Just leave the little pot on the floor & let them play around with it, as they get older they'll use it. Kittens play with everything- it's how they learn.
