- the best type of grass is marijuana
- Hey I used to live in Fl. Try floratam or used to be called St. Augustine. It comes in plugs or I think Sod rolls. Its thick and looks like grab grass up north. Check Lowes Or Home Depot.
- Really it depends on what you want our of your grass.. if I were in florida I would definately go for St. Augustine as it is native there and may do really well, however St. Augustine has been known to be pretty high maintenence, although is it a beautiful grass... if you go with this option you definately want to fertilize, weed & feed, and spray chinch bug killer on it at least once a year. If you want a faster growing low maintence grass that isnt quite as spectacular I would choose centipede.
- St. Augustine Buy it in 1 ft x 1 ft plats. Cover with about 1-2 inches of good soil (not sand or sand/mulch mix) and water 3-4 times per week. The dirt keeps the edges from drying out. I just did it and I am in Houston, about the same conditions.
- Your kidding right... have you seen the brown yards in your neighborhood? No grass stands up to the drought conditions in the area... simply a waste of time and money. Let the weeds grow they are the only thing that will stay green! Unless ofcourse you buck the water dept and or have a nasty smelling reclaim sprinkler system.... then its Floratam for sure~ Hubby ran lawn service company in charlotte county they said nothing better available so long as you can water it.
- St Augustine grass grows best in the sandy soil in Florida. That's what we had in Florida.
