- Echo is a good brand name....for blowers and weed eaters.... troy bilt is also a good name brand.... Toro makes good mowers.... I have gotten a weed eater that you can add different attachments to, such as... edger, hedge trimmer, brush cutter, and a tree saw... that to me was the best idea and deal to do... Home depot is where i shop....
- Good advice ;You can beat prices if you want, but there is plenty of work for everybody. Your hard work can be worth more, the more you learn in this bis. As for tools look closely at what your city or county is using on there smaller jobs (walk behind vs. rider) etc. They dont like (broke down) time any more than you will. GOOD tools are worth every penny to give you good service. They probably deal with your local or oldest mower shop around. Ask one of the city workers if you can , they maybe can help you learn what tools are good or not so good for your area. One more thing even good tools break , keep an eye out for good back-up tools, just like any job customers love dependability. Good luck and be Safe. 1MoTym
- The most important hand held tools you will want are a String Trimmer, a Leaf Blower, and a Hedge Trimmer. When your business picks up and you become more established, consider investing in an Edger, a Tiller, a Brush Cutter, and Chain Saw. For these smaller hand held tools go with either Echo or Stihl. Both brands are reliable and are meant for more of the commercial use. The Echo and Stihl both make a Multi-tool machine that can easily convert from one tool to another just by changing the attachment. Don't go with a brand like Ryobi or Troybilt. These brands are meant for more for homeowners and for the guy that uses it one day a week. Finally, don't buy one from chian stores like Home Depot or Lowes. Echo is sold at chain stores but Stihl is not. Try to buy either one from an independant dealer. Not only will you get someone knowledgable who knows what they're talking about, but you'll have customer support and repair if your machine breaks. They usually always have replacement parts and/or accessories available too.
