I need help estimating a property for a lawn care business?

It is a one acre flat. Not many obstacles.

  1. I pay $50.00 USD for my one acre, flat with some flower beds here and there.
  2. This answer depends on what kind of equipment you will be using, how earger you are to get the client, etc. My father and I have had a lawncare business for 10 years. We try to average a dollar a minute on a one man job, but we use 60 inch ride on mowers. If you are using a push mower or even a 32 inch mower you won't be able to average anywhere near that much. I would say don't go under $65 for a full acre unless you are really needing the business. Even at that, don't go under $50. DOn't forget to take into account how much trimming you will have to do!
  3. What will you be doing there is the best question? Mowing-$125 Fert and weed control, Scotts Lawn Service charges by their price list(even though not all actually pay by the list price) $118 for the first 20k ft, and then $3.85 per thousand after that. Equaling $206.55, I would do it for 150 since it really doesnt take that long at all. I could fert and blanket spray an acre in 45 minutes or less. Hope this helps
