The Grass Doctor

How can I get a business license for a lawn care business if I am renting an apartment?

They will not give me a permission letter. County will not accept just a PO box. And will not accept address where I store my trailer.

  1. just pay 30 dollars to the city. they do not care where you live.
  2. I have no idea what you're talking about. I've had many businesses and have not had any problems starting them up and operating them. None of the communities I've lived in have required a license of any kind except in skilled trades such as plumbing or electrical work. What makes you think you need a license or a letter from your landlord? It sounds as though you are misinformed.
  3. You don't have to 'run' the business from your home. Rent a PO Box for the 'business' mail. Keep your equipment privately owned. I don't think you'd need a permission letter unless you are 'doing' business at your address. You'd be doing lawn care at other residences.
  4. utilize p.o. box for billing. you can have business cars made up with your home address so it helps to make your business appear legit. talk to your person that does your taxes. they would know how to direct you. so you can have a registered headquarters!
