care for lawn overgrown with weeds, not much grass left. What should I do?

1. samething happened 2 me , spray weed killer then plant new grass and use turf builder
2. cut your grass at @ 3inches high at least once a week this will keep new flowers from pollinating. eventually the strong roots from the grass will starve out the weeds.
