- What does it matter if the restaurant is Mexican style. It could be owned by legal citizens.
- heh heh you are pretty much wacked out.
- I agree that we were stabbed in the back by the government, however, there are many Mexicans here legally. They do not deserved to be punished because other Mexicans have broken the law.
- U.S. cannot, we are somewhat dependant on the immigrants. and plus, mexicans are not the only immigrants they are talking about you know.
- No, I love the Mexican influence in the US. Your assuptions that all Mexican-Americans are here illegal is false. What you are asking is un-American. I never disciminate against any group.
- I have already started doing this. I will go out of my way and spend extra to make sure it's not Mexican owned.
- Although I might agree with the Mexican products, I don't think not patronizing Mexican style restaurants will do much. Most of the restaurants are themed that way having not much else to do with Mexico. You would just be hurting local business because they have a particular theme, unless you know for sure they are Mexican owned.
- The government is gonna do what the government wants to do no matter what we say. You see how Bush got into office don't you? I love Mexican food and I will not stop eating it just because the government has stabbed people in the back. Cause it won't change anything!
- Why attack tax-paying corporations? Now, if they hire illegal aliens in their American offices or restaraunts then you have a point but that should be determined on a individual basis (with evidence). Of course, you can boycott whoever you want for any reason.
- well its pretty much ppl like u who f-ed up the world.... r u serious? because some members of a certia race are doing illegal activity u want to destroy all those of that race if not literaly u mean economicly? ur a jerk move to iraq u butthead!!!!
- Hello There! Excuse me. . . but you seem to be buying into an attitude that is harmfull for you and for all of us. IF you just take a moment and look at the bigger picture you may realize that the Congress hasn't really gone far enough to help solve the problem of undocumented people, particularly those who have come from Mexico. Let's look at the Baby Boomers for a moment. I don't know how old you are, but you have to admit that the Baby Boomer Generation didn't have enough children to support them through Social Security or the high cost of Medical Care today. So, we definately need to somehow build a population of legal workers who can pay taxes and Social Security. Now, look at the Real Estate market. . Again there aren't enough Adults coming up the ladder to keep the housing prices high, so we will see deflation in our Real Estate Market. . .without a working population, who are paying taxes and can qualify for mortgages to create a steady demand for housing. And this fact alone is extremely critical for many baby boomers to retire without becoming a total burden on a shrinking work force. Many, many Baby Boomers are counting on house prices & demand remaining high to have enough money to retire. Right now, the United States is in MINUS savings mode. That means that savings in this country is non-existant. . .and people are actually taking more out than what others are putting in. So, we have a serious indicator of economic problems ahead of us. Consumer spending is now almost all debt. That's right. ..people are charging more and more of their purchases or not spending. This country is heading for some really hard economic times IF WE DON'T GET MORE AND MORE PEOPLE LIVING, WORKING, PAYING TAXES AND SPENDING HERE. And from all my personal experiences with all kinds of people, there are many people who are willing hard workers who really need the protection of minimum wage, benefits and the security of knowing that they are legally here. The plan that is being tossed about in Congress right now, doesn't do much to really help the problems on both sides. But it is a start. Once any person who is here without the benefit of legal residency, gets to really be secure in their existance here, they will gladly be wonderfull consumers, taxpayers and savers. And that is really what we need for the future. Sure there is extreme Corporate Greed, and this administration bends over backwards every single time to make things favorable for them. . . but we cannot blame the victims. ..the victims are the undocumented and YOU & ME! Oh, yes, I can see the middle finger, and that Great Big Middle Finger is for the undocumented, YOU & ME! All of us are suffering. With the amount of jobs that have been outsourced from this country, from industries that we invented, built and designed, all for the corporate profits, well, just how big is that middle finger for all us. . ..documented and undocumented alike? Corporate Greed is the problem here, not the undocumented workers, not the unskilled American Workers, not the people who are just trying to work and pay their bills . . ..Corporate GREED is the problem. Selecting one group of people, Mexicans, to be the scape goats, to experience the wrath of the misguided, is just another ruse to point that middle finger elsewhere to distract us from the real problem. Many parts of this country were Mexico to begin with. . . .and guess who were the original inhabitants when we 'expanded' and took that area. . .MEXICANS! There are millions and millions of Mexicans whose ancestry is in this country is far more generations than yours or mine! Corporate Greed is what needs to be stopped. We are a nation of immigrants, or refugees, of people looking for a better way to live.. .. why should we let all these Talking Heads on TV (READ THIS LOU DOBBS) bloviate every night and in reality be pointing our attention, our anger, our hatred at innocent people who are just trying to earn a living. The corporations, the big Agricultural Interests have enticed many of these people to come here without the bother of sponsoring them the proper way. It is far more profitable for the Corporations that way, isn't it? DON'T BLAME THE VICTIMS! And don't ever group together an entire ethnic group out of the anger that we feel when we look at our dreams shatter around us. We are Victims and so are the undocumented workers. And there are endless millions of people of Mexican descent whose families have been located in the US for endless hundreds of years and are top notch people. And so are many of the recent arrivals. I am of Irish Descent, and the Irish were discriminated against too! The policy of immigration was so skewed against the Irish that for many generations the Irish had to be here Illegally. Then in the Early 90s, the immigration department had to face up to their discrimation against Irish, and issue special visas allocated by lottery. But, living life underground as undocumented was very hard on them, until things got straightened out. My family's arrival here goes back many generations, but we should never forget that for many of us, our origins here were because of very brave ancestors who came here ... legally or illegally.
- I was about to answer your question, but I am on my way to the taqueria... sorry
