Lawn Fertilizer?

I want to try a liquid lawn fertilizer. I've only used the granules but think I'd get better results with a spray on like you attatch to a hose. This is for my house, not a commercial application. I want to use this for my lawn, not a garden.

1. I've used Miracle Grow and had good results.
2. Water soluble fert is fine, but it has no potential for release over time. you get a quick green-up and a flush of growth, but it doesn't last as long.. Granular fertilizers tend to dissolve more slowly and feed for longer. They don't give you that quick greening, but they tend to give a better long-term effect. Consider both.. use a water soluble at half rate and also apply the granular at one time. You should get fast greening and a longer term green at once. Look for the words "controlled release" on the granular fert. Products like Scott's "step" series are meant to be reapplied. and often. A controlled release granular may last the entire growing season, if you select the right one. Good Luck!
3. any kind of liquid fert is ok but if you want a really great looking lawn go with scotts weed and feed then after a couplr of weeks if you want a greener lawn use nitrogen 0-0-46 works really good.
