The Grass Doctor

I made a organic liquid fertilizer from the net. But 4 days later it smells real bad. Why & is it safe to use?

This is the recipe I found: Powered egg shells Powered match tips Powered coffee grounds Epsom salt Saw dust Rain water And a small amount of hydrogen peroxide Let me know what you think...

  1. I dont se anything in there that is harmfull to people, some fertalizers just smell bad. If its moldy i wouldnt use it tho. We used an organic snail and slug bait that turns into fertalizer for the garden and it smelled bad a day or to later but the plants seemed to like it.
  2. Most liquid fertilizers are smelly. I wouldn't worry about it.
  3. Organic products smell awful. In fact one person that I take care of flower for bought organic fertilizer once, It smelt so bad I sad either go to chemicals or have somebody else fertilize.
  4. With the egg shells and the match tips, you're getting a decent shot of sulfur and that's probably what's smelling. Rotten egg smell? That's sulfur...... I'd try it on one or two plants and see if there are any negative effects.
