I punctured my finger on my Meyer lemon tree thorn, now my knuckles are swollen and stiff. Has this happened ?
I used ice and benedryl, but still swollen, and my palm is now also sore. I never used pesticide or fertilizer on this plant.

- Pesticides and fertilizers would be the the least of your problems. It sounds like you have a bacteria infection that was introduced to your body when you broke the skin (your main source of protection). Get to a doctor and ask for antibiotics.
- GO TO THE FREAKIN DOCTOR BEFORE YOUR HAND ROTS OFF!! Geez....
- It looks like youi are having some sort of reaction, go to the doctor.
- Slight swelling, bruising, and tenderness around skin that has been injured is normal. Swelling and bruising that develops slowly over 6 to 12 hours usually means a minor injury. If your symptoms improve with home treatment, do not involve a joint, and are not caused by infection, an evaluation by your health professional is probably not needed. A puncture wound may also break small blood vessels under the skin and cause more swelling and bruising than you would expect. Rapid swelling and bruising that begins immediately after a puncture injury often means there is a large amount of bleeding or that damage to deeper tissues is present. When a lot of swelling and bruising occurs within 30 minutes of an injury, evaluation by a health professional is needed. Puncture wounds caused by the injection of a substance under high pressure into the skin may cause rapid swelling and need immediate medical treatment. Swelling in a joint may indicate injury to the joint structures or an infection. If a puncture wound was near a joint, the swelling may limit the joint's range of motion, and the joint may feel tight or stiff.
