why urea formed as prills?
urea can be found in granulary or prills form, why did the industry formed it like that? Is there any corelation with the objective of urea (as fertilizer) or the plant itself ? Thank you.

- During production in urea plants , liquid urea solution is pumped to the top of urea prilling tower which is quite high ( about 57 meter). While falling thru air from that height , it is cooled naturally and forms the prills . The process bears similarity with ice globules formation in rain storm. It is advantageous to use prill forms( crystall ), as wastage associated with heating to produce dry fine dust forms are reduced .
- No, it's produced as an extended release fertiliser 'capsule'.. it takes a long time to dissolve, even in the rain, which prevents burning of the vegetation.
