can i use urea fertilizer to activate compost pile for quicker use?

  1. I have never heard of that but I know if you go to the woods and get a bucket of that soil and put it in the compost it will help it break down faster because it has the micro organisms you need in it.
  2. yes, urea is high nitrogen and that is what the orgnisms requie that live on compost. Too much, however, will kill the organisms, Likewise a 10 10 10 fertilizer with the components of phosporous and potash are deteremental to the compost organisms, so dont use that triple 10 or 12 at all. Compost needs to be turned almost daily with a pitchfork and moisture added between turns. Those drum compost makers were great tools, however unsightly and large, they made compost quite rapidly because they turned the compost and water was added.
