What kind of soil and fertilizer and whatever else I need to start the small garden in my backyard?
I plan to plant two tomato plants, 20 corn seeds, several zuchinni seeds, several cucumber seeds and 10 strawberry plants. Wanted to boost better and healthy crops. I live in zone 6 area.

- Get a strawberry pot. Generally you need rich soil. Get some manure and mix it with your soil.
- Dig up and prepare a place to plant your garden. Plant the seeds and set out the transplants according to directions on the seed packets and ID tags on the transplants. Water as needed and watch your garden grow. Check out a book on general vegetable/fruit gardening at your local library to diagnose suspected problems as your plants grow. Follow the recommendations and learn from your mistakes. All of the plants you intend to grow, except the strawberries, are very easy to grow and should give you few problems. I agree with the container grown strawberries. Visit your local plant nursery and they will recommend varities that do well in your area. Follow their advice and directions. Good luck with your new garden.
