New lawn what fertilizer to use, getting weeds?

Put lawn in this past summer what can i put on it at this point. Starting to get weeds and fall, cool weather is here.

1. Lime and some low nitrogen fertilizer. I'd probably choose something like 10-10-10 or 15-20-15 if I hadn't gotten a soil test.
2. scotts weed and feed is the best thing I have found. it works best used on a regular basis, like 3-4 times a year.

4. It's too late in the year to apply weed and feed, that is used at the beginning of spring. You mentioned that it's starting to get cool, from this I would guess that your grass will go dormant. If so, don't worry about your weeds, they will die back in the winter and your grass will go dormant. At the beginning of spring use weed and feed to stop the weeds before they start.

Good Luck with that.With all the new laws on weed killers and pesticides,you can look forward to a life of weeding.I have spent the last 6 years trying to eradicate the weeds naturally pfffttt,stick a fork in me I am DONE.I do believe the days of the rolling green lawns are over.It is ecologically unsound.With water conservation being one of our main concerns now planting grass is wasteful.I have just finished mulching my entire front yard.killing ALL the grass in it.I put in fruit trees(useful trees) and perennial and bulb beds.Flowers are much more rewarding than grass and do not use hardly a fraction of the water that lawn gorges itself on.
