A home made lawn fertilizer recipe calls for ammonia, antiseptic mouthwash, liquid dishsoap, epsom salts and?
beer. I understand the funtion of the ammonia, dishsoap and epsom salts, but what is the purpose of the mouthwash and beer?

- Alcohol? Honestly, I don't know. I've never even heard of this before. Where is this recipe from?
- So it can drink and the police wont smell it? LOL i have no idea. Maybe the yeast and Alcohol. Stace
- I would say yeast in the beer-- Mouthwash idk.
- the mouthwash is a multipurpose antibacterial the beer provides carbohydrates which give the plants a ready energy source, yeast/malt gives a base for microbial growth which encourages root health, also it does have a small amount of alcohol which acts as to inhibit soft bodied pests
- Dont use that shite unless you want brown grass--If you pour enough beer on grass it will kill it--all sorts of grass
- it dont hurt my grass. it makes the fire ants go crazy/
- I use that mix on my compost to speed decomposition. Works well.
