- Its good for about 2 weeks to a month
- Well ideally you should be putting it on your lawn. Unused fertilizer is good for several years.
- It should be good for a couple of years. Use it.
- As long as it remains dry it is good. If it should get hard from moisture, try melting it in water, Dilute the water heavily and apply to your lawn. However do not try to force it to break apart or hit it, I was always told this could cause a small explosion. How true that is I'm not sure but better safe than sorry.
- If its still in the bag and has been kept dry then it is still good to use, after it has been wet the Nitrogen in it begins to break down and is gone in 6 months or less. The Nitrogen is probably why you bought it in the first place to increase growth, the Phosphate and Potassium in it lasts longer, even years.
- working as an apprentice turf manager i can say fert is good for a couple of years depending on how it has been stored. It also depends on what sort of fert you are using (poop/blended/etc). Yes it can cause an explosion again depending what sort you are using (ever set cow dung on fire) it's combustible!!! we have had bags of fert for up to a year before we throw them out
