  1. of course dont dont water too much to wash them away.or gather to one spot.
  2. City water contains chlorine gas (age & sunlight diffuse its potency). I'd prefer the daylight watering. If you've not worked the seeds into the dirt, they're likely to float downstream with much watering. Do NOT fertilize until after the first mowing!
  3. Unless you live in a warm climate and run the possibility of having the seeds dry out overnight, I'd recommend watering late in the afternoon and then not water until early morning. The risk of creating an environment for fungal diseases (such as Pythium) to attack your seedlings are greater when moisture is present and without Ultraviolet light (which destroys most fungi). Here are 4 important things to remember when starting your lawn from seed; Watering is crucial and it's best to keep the seedbed constantly moist to start germination. http://www.newyork.bbb.org/Default.aspx?pid=1318#title1 Water often, rather than deeply. Only the top inch of soil needs to be kept moist. Once germination starts, keep the area moist until the seedlings are well established. Hope this answered your question. GOOD LUCK!
  4. You should cover the seed with 1/4 inch top soil and keep the soil moist do not let it dry out till the seed germinates and plants are about 1 inch tall.
  5. yes you should water your new lawn but you should cover the new lawn with a thin layer of straw to hold in moisture and to start germination.
  6. I always water my lawn twice a day if possible for 10 days after reseeding. the thicker you spread the seed, the better lawn you'll have.
