The Grass Doctor

How long before grass seeds start to grow?

Public Comments

  1. About 3-5 days. Keep the area damp. If you spray it with a hose, make sure the water pressure is not strong enough to blow all the seed away.
  2. Grass seeds germinate when nighttime temperature reaches 70. You must keep the seeds extremely wet, then within 10-14 days you will see the grass coming up.
  3. If the air is warm and moist I have seen grass germinate the same day it is planted. Otherwise it can be 2-3 weeks.
  4. Optimum conditions 5 days usually they will be coming through the ground cover within a week to ten days.
