How long before grass seeds start to grow?
Public Comments
- About 3-5 days. Keep the area damp. If you spray it with a hose, make sure the water pressure is not strong enough to blow all the seed away.
- Grass seeds germinate when nighttime temperature reaches 70. You must keep the seeds extremely wet, then within 10-14 days you will see the grass coming up.
- If the air is warm and moist I have seen grass germinate the same day it is planted. Otherwise it can be 2-3 weeks.
- Optimum conditions 5 days usually they will be coming through the ground cover within a week to ten days.
