  1. now, its not the temp, its the when.
  2. IMO any temp over freezing and the earlier the better before the seed heads open. Good luck! You have crabgrass for a reason ... you water too much, your soil is not balanced, you mow too short, you have the wrong kind of grass for your locale .... http://www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn7456.html
  3. By all means apply it when the turf is dry and no rain forcasted for a day or so. Make sure you keep your pets and children off the turf until the rainfall has worked the agent into the soil. Turfgrass and weeds grow on the basis of soil temperature and available moisture. It does not depend on air temps perse. Crabgrass is a different beast! Not only does it depend on the soil temp but on contact with direct sunlight!! Mow your turf and apply your compound. After that set your mower to three inches of height immediately. Maintain that height through out the season (until Mid-Sept). Top seed with a Certified Grass Seed Mixture around Mother's Day and fert with a 10-10-10 with minerals granular fert. You'll need two years to significantly reduce the crabgrass, however, it works. You can contact me at gjgjobs@yahoo.com for a complete turfgrass program. I need to know what zone/state you are in. I will be happy to help you. Good Luck.
  4. do it today before the rain comes
  5. The sooner, the better. Rain/snow should not affect it.
