The Grass Doctor

This morning I treated my lawn with Scotts fertilizer which is also a weed and dandelion killer.........?

when I came into the house I saw so many birds on my lawn picking and eating which I think was the fertilizer....do you think they will die I am so worried.

  1. yes, I'll bet you killed hundreds of the cute little birds
  2. Don't worry about the birds. You probably brought the bugs up to the surface as well and the birds were having a feast.
  3. I hate it when people do that to their lawns, the companies always say it is safe, don't believe them! Many cats and dogs have become ill and even died after eating grass treated with that stuff! They also can suffer neurological problems that they will have the rest of their lives. That stuff is awful! The birds probably flew off and either are dying now or killing off their young! The grass is safest only after a couple of good rain falls. Those companies will always tell you the chemicals are safe because they want to make a sale and especially get you as a repeat customer!
  4. I use Scotts all the time and have lots of birds and squirrels on the lawn, never had a problem. The best thing to do after fertilizing the lawn is to water it in right after application. That takes the powdery granules off the grass blades and gets the fertilizer down to the turf, making it safer to walk on.
