I need information and/or facts of grass seed please help?

this is for a science project and whomever gives me the most info will be voted best answer don't just go to yahoo.com and type in grass seed!.......lol

3. If you are growing varieties of grass for a project, I'd use annual rye or fescue or bermuda. Why? These grasses are easily grown and germinate quickly. Some types are difficult to germinate and grow VERY slowly - centipede, zoysia, St. Augustine. You could grow one variety uner differing conditions of sunlight or soil or fertilization. My son just did a project and used lima beans because they grow so rapidly. He used different types of fertilization to see what made the plants grow the fastest. Good luck on your project. If you go to a local nursery or garden center and tell them what you are doing, you may get some free advice and supplies!!
4. the biggest point I could make on grass seed is just because the bag of seed says" annual turf"and its less expensive than the Kentucky Bluegrass doesnt not mean its good seed(I worked in a lawn and garden center for years)annual truf wil come up for one season and die it is for establishing lawns only so you plant the seed mix with kentucky blue the annual grass will come up quickly and i guess kinda protect the other grass when it comes up slower!
