WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO PLANT GRASS seeds?

1. spring is a good time, right before a gentle rain.
2. What kind are you planting? It makes a big difference. And what is the general location of the area to be planted. New England, for example or Southern California? Also makes a difference
3. I have planted annual Rye to get bare spots going when there is a soggy wet late spring snow going on with good success.
