- on top of soil
- Just sprinkle them around and water them lightly =]
- go to
- just scatter them onto soil, either now or in the autumn, dont do it in the summer the sun will burn the seeds and they wont happen, and water them daily if it dosnt rain
- Have a garden of a pot for a plant. If you have a pot, cover half the pot with soil, then stick in the plant or grass seeds, then fill the rest of the pot with soil, then water it, put it in the window of sunlight, then use fertilizer every 3 days, Also for the garden, you'd wanna stick the grass seeds and burry it under the soil, so it would start growing from the roots first I'm good and experienced at gardening, it's a form of a work of art for nature, and I really have grown awesome plants in the summer, and I'm known to have a green thumb, so I hope that my plan works......
- We use a garden weasel to turn over some of the soil, drop some seed, turn it over again, add a bit more seed and water. We filled in a space where a large round pool sat last year and killed the grass. We have used this method and the area is filled in already in less than 3 weeks. Turning over the soil after the first seeds you put down helps to prevent the birds from eating a lot of it. Make sure to water every day and maybe some fertilizer. I have been using regular miracle grow.
- Better read up on this one! Level it w/the surrounding grass bed....Scratch the surface of the soil, scatter the seed, cover w/thin layer of good dirt and then straw (NOT hay), keep a bit moist every day. It is recommended to amend the soil first after doing a soil test....
- Are you seeding a lawn or patching bare spots? If you are seeding an entire lawn look for grass seed in blends of quick growing grass and blue grass, for instance. The quick sprouting grass will serve as a "nursery" for the blue grass, shading it and keeping it in place. The grass will have to be raked into the prepared soil and watered until established. If patching a bare spot, rake in the seeds lightly, water and cover the area with a garden fabric row cover. The garden fabric keeps the ideal environment and the seed sprouts and grows twice as fast in my experience. You can buy floating row covers at Gardener's Supply and sometimes Wal-Mart, for instance. Once the grass starts coming up, remove the cover. I take old wire hangers and make my own "pins" to hold the cover in place. Simply use a wire cutter to cut pins from the shoulders of the hangers.
- Go to a tool rental company and rent an overseeder (slit-seeder). First you fill the hopper full of seed and adjust the gauge to the type and amount of seed needed to drop. Then you make rows through your lawn like a push mower. There are a set of blades on the machine that make 1/2" slits which the seed are pushed into. You have to go over the yard twice by crosshatching. Finally, you have to keep the area well watered until the grass is well established. This is a great time of year to plant before it gets too hot.
- you definately dont need to bury the seeds as they need light to grow, what u need to do is level your soil and then simply scatter the seeds over the surface of the soil, water the seeds every 3-4 days depending on the weather, the seeds will soon start to grow.
- Break up 1/2 inches of the ground.Level off.Sprinkle seeds evenly and lightly cover with soil/sand or compost. It will not germinate if uncovered,or too deeply covered
- After the soil has been adequately prepared. hand sow thinly, then rake in
